Tiffiny Carlson

Tiffiny Carlson, a freelance writer and magazine columnist from Minneapolis, MN is a C5-6 quad, injured 20 years ago in a diving accident. Growing up, Tiffiny was active in dance and gymnastics. Post-injury, yoga has become her new passion. Staying in shape has always been important to her and now that she's paralyzed, yoga, combined with stretching, chair aerobics and healthy eating, have become her go-to "get healthy" routine.

Since 2003, Tiffiny has been a columnist for New Mobility magazine, writing their “SCI Life” column. Showing the real side of disability is what Tiffiny does, and she’s brought this message to mainstream publications such as the Huffington PostPenthouse, Playgirl and Nerve.com.

When she’s not writing, Tiffiny loves to cook, jam out to Bowie tunes and work as a mentor to people with new spinal cord injuries for The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. She also practices yoga at the adapted yoga studio, Mind Body Solutions.

What WHEELSTRONG SPORTS means to Tiffiny: WHEELSTRONG SPORTS represents the disability community's desire to stay in shape and get healthy. Run by people who are disabled, they help us get motivated and interested in getting in shape again, and that's needed big time. Why others should get involved with the WHEELSTRONG SPORTS Community: We'll support you in your goals and introduce you to new ways of getting in shape that you've never heard of before. There's nothing better than a community who understands, and WHEELSTRONG is where it's at. beautyability_banner Be sure to check out Tiffiny’s website beautyability.com  and podcast No Free Rides where she interviews a whole cavalcade of interesting people with disabilities.
